According to new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the clemency request are unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning the convict is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Context and Developments

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

This past summer, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had dispatched a communication to the President, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by 24 November.

Last month, the nation's highest court rejected an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
